If you have several office or warehouse locations, and need to link them together to speed up business processes, selecting the solution that suits your pocket and customer expectations is not straight forward. To begin with, you will have to consider the following:
- Are all locations in the same metropolitan area or district, or are they national, or global?
- How many network service providers can supply an end to end solution, or do they rely on interconnect agreements for different legs of the service offered.
- Do you intend to combine voice and data over one service (risk) or have them separate (expensive)
- Do you wish to run voice over your IP network? If so, will your existing infrastructure support it?
- What SLA (Service Level Agreement) is your carrier/provider offering? Will they let you down when you need their support?
- What is the best choice of service? ATM, IPVPN, Frame Relay, MPLS, DSL, SDH, ISDN, PSTN, SHDS, SMDS to name but a few – all have different cost, quality, bandwidth and availability implications.
- Is video to be taken into consideration?
- What kind of data traffic is to be sent across your network?
- What hardware should you purchase, or should you be looking at a managed service?
- Do you intend to centralise voice services through a call centre or centralised operator?
- How much will it cost?
Not all of these will apply to your specific project, but certainly some will and Spink Telecom will save you the huge time and resource needed to find the answers. Time you could be spending acquiring new customers or taking care of the ones you have.
